upon clearing the doorway, you discovered that this chamber was more brightly lit than its previous counterparts. in its center, a violently burning brazier of fire cast light and shadows throughout. four glowing sigil circles were scribed upon the floor, one per cardinal corner, while its walls and floors were covered in neatly written runes. diagrams, depicting three dimensional spaces surrounded by eclipses in various orientations adorned every face of the room, many of which seemed interconnected by charcoal lines and vertices, chiseled together to form permanent and semi-permanent links.
as uzo approached, the brazier hummed to life, charging the room with magical energy. each sigil formed a column and slowly, flamespikers began to phase shift into the fey plane. the ensuing battle was fiercely fought and through the destruction of the brazier, which severed the creatures magical ties to this world, the day was won.
battered and bloody, you jointly decided that you must rest and recover, even though you collectively worried about what the myconid sovereign’s spores were doing inside you, presently left untreated. darker still, what if all of this was for naught, with no residuum to be found and your only exit fast closing by livid duergar and his companions.
but rest you must… and so you do.
